Kash Global sustainability policy

Statement

Kash global is committed to high consideration of sustainability and green environment when performing its operations.  Protecting the ecosystem and natural resources and minimising the environmental impact of its operations are always adequate attention by Kash Global.  We aim to observe best sustainability practice in support of a balanced ecosystem throughout our activities and to encourage our business partners to do the same.

Definition of sustainability

Kash Global embraces the Brundtland Commission’s definition of sustainability as the “development that meets the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”.  Therefore, we consider the environmental consequences of our present decisions in the future by contributing to preserving the Earth’s natural resources.  We aim to constantly integrate sustainability standards into our business practices, which will hopefully reflect in a healthier world environment. We are committed to transparency and accountability in our sustainability practice.

Fundamentals

Kash Global sustainability policy is premised on the following fundamental principles:

• prevent and minimise the environmental impact of our activities;
• abide with, and where possible exceed, sustainability regulations and best practice;
• constantly integrate sustainability standards into our business systems;
• communicate our sustainability policy to all staff and ensure it proper implementation and continuous development and review; and
• communicate our sustainability policy to our business partners and encourage them to adopt similar policies.

Practice

In practice, steps in the following areas will be applied.

Travel and transportation

• When practicable, walk, cycle or use public transport for local business trips;
• when feasible in terms of time and cost, use trains for regional business trips;
• make financial plans that account for more sustainable means of transport rather than the cheapest options and avoid budget airliners as much as possible for environmental reasons;
• When possible and practicable, invest digital tools such as Skype and other digital communication tolls to replace physical meeting to save time and reduce impact on environment; and
• Consider sustainable work solutions such as work from home to reduce travel when practicable and to encourage staff to use public transport for commuting when possible.

Procurement and protection of natural resources

• Reduce paper and stationery consumption by use of recycled paper where possible and identify methods to minimise waste;
• maximise reuse of recycled office outcomes such as paper, cartridges and other office equipment as much as possible;
• maximise energy saving in the office by keeping electric equipment turned off when not in use and by purchase of power saving appliances.
• Use a power supplier that embraces renewable energy and increase use and support of renewable energy as much as possible;
• Buy recycled office furniture and make arrangements to purchase wood products from suppliers who apply sustainability standards particularly in terms of forest preservation and are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council; and
• Buy fair Trade food and beverages.

Operational system and community support

• Support local community organisations and social enterprises in the areas we operate in support of green environment and community development;
• ensure that any third party associated to Kash Global apply at least minimum sustainability considerations when performing in association with us; and
• enclose copy of our sustainability policy when submitting business offers to clients.
